Our History

In 2015, the Leeds Broadband team started efforts as a coalition of communities known as the Western Kennebec Lakes Community Broadband Association (WKLCBA).

We discovered narrowing our focus to our Town to be more effective, and the mission of Leeds Broadband became specific: To ensure that all of our residents & businesses have access to reliable, affordable, high-speed Internet.

Our dedicated Leeds Broadband Committee has developed and brought this initiative to a vote within our community, secured funding, and retained a local and trusted partner, Axiom.

About Axiom

Leeds Broadband is partnering with Axiom to effectively install, construct, and operate a Fiber-to-Home Internet Solution that will be blazingly fast, highly reliable, and affordable. Our small and dedicated Leeds Broadband Committee has selected, and will oversee, Axiom.

Local and trusted, Axiom connects remote areas of Maine with the world. Over the last 10 years, Axiom has been delivering critical broadband services to rural communities, as well as designed and constructed more than 100 access points and connected more than 2,500 square miles in one of America’s most challenging terrains — rural Maine.
